Godfathers of punk or just a band too loud?

A year or two ago I remember listening to one of Jeff Buckleys live albums (think it was Live at L'Olympia) and a song came on that didn't sound like one of his self penned ditties, but it intrigued me nonetheless as it had a very raw, almost punky edge to it.

The song was 'Kick Out The Jams', orignally done by an American band called Motor City Five, or MC5, as they were often called. I got hold of the album of the same name and had a listen. This album was recorded completely live which was unusual as it was MC5's debut album back in 1969. Take a listen to the title track, its loud, its very raw, maybe even a little drugged fueled (perhaps?) but it's definately worth a listen...
